ACE eagerly awaited this special sneak-peek preview of upcoming films from Vellamatt Entertainment.

Western Sydney filmmaker Matthew C. Vella and his close collaborators were present at this FREE event, and showcased their upcoming projects:

  • The Undesirables (dir. Luke Agius, co-written and produced by Matthew C. Vella) (2026)
  • From All Sides (dir. Bina Bhattacharya)
  • Nannu (dir. Matthew C. Vella), recipient of Blacktown City Council’s Creative Arts Fund.
  • Passion Pop (dir. Chris Elena)
  • Atomic Kingdom S3 (dir. James Peniata)
  • “Always” by Sonic Mantra (dir. Matthew C. Vella)
  • Chun-Li Vs Everybody (dir. Matthew C. Vella)

ACE was thrilled to welcome special guest creatives Bina Bhattacharya, Luke Agius, Chris Elena, James Peniata, and more. This event was a great networking opportunity with Western Sydney filmmakers and artists!

About Vellamatt

Matthew C. Vella is an award-winning filmmaker from Blacktown with an expansive body of work writing, directing and producing long and short form content.
A passionate collaborator and educator, Matthew is committed to inclusivity and mutual support in his filmmaking practice, helping others discover their voices, including at ACE workshops and events. He operates the highly successful Western Sydney Filmmakers Hangout.

Western Sydney Filmmakers Hangout is a popular networking group for Western Sydney filmmakers. The group also hosts regular and free networking events, and has partnered with organisations including Arts & Cultural Exchange, Screen Australia, CLIPPED Music Video Festival and Made in the West Film Festival.

The Screen Cultures Program supports new voices in the Australian screen industry, championing First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) practitioners from Western Sydney and beyond. ACE is proud to bring diverse stories to life, connecting audiences, communities and the screen industry through shared creative endeavour.
