Save Tuvalu, Save the World – Community Film Screening + Island Vibes Night

September 27, 2025 4:00 pm
ACE Parramatta, 8 Victoria Rd, Parramatta

Pacific Voices on the Front Line of Climate Change

Guests joined us for a night that brought together film, performance, and urgent conversation about the climate crisis in the Pacific.

At the centre of the evening was Save Tuvalu, Save the World, an original documentary from The Australia Institute, presented by Walkley Award-winning journalist and former ABC 4 Corners reporter Stephen Long. The film follows Tuvalu’s fight for survival on the front line of climate change, where rising seas threaten to erase an island nation.

We were honoured to welcome Gitty K Yee, a youth advocate, photographer, and Tuvalu resident, who shared her perspective on her island home’s fight for survival.

This event was hosted in collaboration with Arts & Cultural Exchange (ACE), The Root Crop, The Australia Institute, Western Sydney Climate Collective, Pacific Climate Warriors, Satiu Studios, and Tagata Moana Writer’s Hub, and more.

About Save Tuvalu, Save The World

Save Tuvalu, Save the World takes viewers into the lived realities of climate change in Tuvalu. Rising seawater is destroying crops, contaminating fresh water, and pushing low-lying islands toward the brink of becoming unliveable within decades. Through the lens of Walkley Award-winning journalist and former ABC 4 Corners reporter Stephen Long, the film reveals both the devastating impact of the climate crisis and the resilience of Tuvalu’s people as they fight for their future.
