An Animated Blast from the Past

What a night! Animation fans enjoyed an evening of action, nostalgia, and creativity at this ReanimatedAU and ACE presentation of Power Rangers Ninja Storm Reanimated!

Reimagined by a massive team of 190 animators, this fan-fuelled project transforms the classic Power Rangers episode Tongue and Cheek into a kaleidoscope of styles. From 2D and 3D to stop motion and beyond, audiences got a chance to see this premiere animation side-by-side with the original live-action episode, fully experiencing the artistry and imagination at play.

Food was also available on the night, with gozleme served up by our friends at KOCAGOZ.

Meet ReanimatedAU

ReanimatedAU is a Sydney-based collaborative animation project where each participant reimagines a short segment of a chosen live-action TV episode. Since 2022, the project has run annually, bringing together animators of all backgrounds and experience levels to share their creativity, build their skills, and cultivate community. Each year concludes with public screenings that showcase the finished reanimated episode — colourful, chaotic, and endlessly inventive.

This event is presented as part of ACE’s Screen Cultures Program, which supports new storytellers and diversifies the screen industry by creating pathways for First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) practitioners in Western Sydney and beyond. ACE’s Screen Cultures Program receives support from Screen NSW.

By partnering with ReanimatedAU, ACE brings emerging and established animators together in Parramatta, amplifying underrepresented voices, showcasing fresh creative talent, and opening new opportunities for the next generation of screen practitioners.
