Pasifika Christmas Movie Night

December 20, 2025 6:30 pm — Tickets FREE
Arts & Cultural Exchange, 8 Victoria Rd Parramatta

ACE and Tagata Moana Writers partnered with performer Unaloto Funaki to host a special community screening of Mama’s Music Box.

The event welcomed Western Sydney’s Pasifika community, families, and friends for an evening of connection and celebration, showcasing a film created by Pasifika creatives. Following the screening, audiences stayed for a short Q&A, offering insight into the story behind the project.

About the Film

It’s Christmas Eve in South Auckland, and cousins Matai (Unaloto Funaki) and Sam (Sieni Leo’o Olo) are on a mission to track down their grandmother’s missing music box — for very different reasons. Their search quickly spirals into a hilarious, family-friendly race against the clock.

Mama’s Music Box was created from scratch in just 30 days by filmmaker Stallone Vaiaoga-Ioasa and producer Abba Rose, the sibling duo behind Pasifika favourites Take Home Pay and Hibiscus & Ruthless.

Presented as part of the ACE Screen Cultures program.
