Introducing Parramatta Literary Salon

Arts & Cultural Exchange (ACE) is excited to introduce our new monthly literary event series – Parramatta Literary Salon – celebrating the art of conversation and the power of storytelling.

We celebrated the first edition on Wednesday 22 October 2025, welcoming acclaimed writer Julie Janson, a proud Burruberongal woman of the Dharug nation, for an in-depth conversation about her remarkable body of work — spanning plays, novels and poetry that bring First Nations histories and voices to the stage and page.

Julie was joined by Cathy Craigie, a Gamilaroi and Anaiwon woman and respected media and cultural consultant.

Sharleigh Crittenden, a proud Wiradjuri woman, writer and poet read some of her latest works before the conversation.

This project has been supported through a City of Parramatta Council Community Grant.
