Guests speak before a packed audience (SXSW 2024)
Arts & Cultural Exchange (ACE) at SXSW!
ACE Executive Director Anne Loxley spoke at this thought-provoking panel discussion on the topic ‘Western Sydney – Where technology and creativity converge’.
As an award-winning curator and community collaborator, Anne brought insight and depth of knowledge to this special one-hour session about art, innovation, and change. The panel was chaired by Destination NSW CEO Karen Jones, and featureed Bradfield Development Authority CEO Ken Morrison, and Powerhouse Chief Executive Lisa Havilah.
The panellists considered major transformations affecting Western Sydney:
- Plan for Western Sydney Arts, Culture and Creative Industries (2025-2028) – a new funding initiative aimed at repairing historic underfunding, strengthening creative ecosystems, showcasing First Nations and Western Sydney arts and culture, supporting careers, and unlocking spaces for culture.
- Western Sydney International Airport (opening in 2026)
- Bradfield City Centre – Innovation Hub
- Powerhouse Parramatta & STEM Programs
