A Western Sydney Book Club – October Edition

October 31, 2025 6:30 pm — Tickets FREE
Arts & Cultural Exchange, 8 Victoria Rd Parramatta

About the Book

Discipline, the latest book by Randa Abdel-Fattah, is a powerful and timely novel. It follows the story of Ashraf, an academic in freefall, and Hannah, a young journalist navigating motherhood and newsroom politics.

When a high school student is arrested for protesting a university’s ties to the Israeli weapons industry, both are forced to confront the personal and political stakes of silence, conscience, and complicity.

Set against the backdrop of Sydney in 2021 and the bombardment of Gaza, Randa Abdel-Fattah weaves a compelling story about power, responsibility, and the costs of speaking out, or failing to.
