Jerrah Patston to Record New Album ‘Abandoned Cricket Games’ at MONA’s Frying Pan Studios

Club Weld’s Jerrah Patston is set to record his new album, Abandoned Cricket Games, at the renowned Frying Pan Studios at MONA, Tasmania, from 24-25 October 2024. This opportunity comes through a grant awarded by the Blue Mountains City Council, with additional support from the Australian Government Department of Social Services, Nakama Arts, and ACE.

Following the recording of his new album, Jerrah will perform at MONA Lawns, 3pm Saturday 26 October! We’re very excited for Jerrah to have this opportunity, and if you are able, we’d love you to join us for this afternoon performance as Jerrah shares his unique sound across the Tasman.

A Unique Recording Experience at Frying Pan Studios

Frying Pan Studios, the current home of the legendary REDD.17 recording console used by The Beatles and Pink Floyd at Abbey Road Studios, will serve as the creative backdrop for Jerrah’s new project. The album is being produced by Chris Townend, whose impressive portfolio includes work with artists like Portishead, Sunn O))), and Lo Carmen.

Jerrah Patston’s Distinctive Sound

Jerrah’s music is known for its whimsical charm and storytelling, taking listeners on a journey through places like Oberon, the Nepean River, and Old Bar. His previous album, Going Places, premiered live at the Blue Mountains Theatre as part of his residency with Propel Projects.
Music critic Luke Martin praised Jerrah, writing, “I have honestly never encountered a musician so thrilled to be performing and recording as Jerrah.”
